A (Thankfully) Unfamiliar Place

Where were you at 6:30 this morning? Sleeping? Taking a shower? Watching the morning news?

Here's where Victoria and I were:
Look like fun? It wasn't too bad, for a 3 hour stint. Victoria's been running a fever the past few days, and this morning she woke up crying with a major barking cough. So off to the ER we went, and it's croup. She got a breathing treatment and some oral steroids, they watched her for a little while then sent us home. Oh - she did get some popsicles and Teddy Grahams, too :)

She's already had one nap and is just pretty content to lay around all day. Here's hoping it works its way through quickly and she's her normal chipper self soon.

Ugh! Poor thing.

Hopefully she is on the mend quickly!

Hospitals, no fun, but so helpful! Glad you live so close to a good one. Let's hope she's on the mend! Love and hugs, Busha

Well she doesn't look too frantic over being at a hospital. The croup is no fun but most of the time sounds worse than it is unless you wait too long to get meds going and it gets deep into the chest. Hopefully she's back on the road to recovery by now. Love, Mom (Penny)

Kristin,
We have the croup at our house every time the weather does a major dip. I know exactly how scary it it the first time. Easton was only 6 months. Here is a quick thinking tip. Quickly go to the bathroom and turn on the shower and hold Victoria outside the shower and breathe in the steam for 15-20 minutes ( the sound is soothing as well), then bundle her up in a blanket and go out outside and breathe in the cold air. If it is summer and the air is not cool, open the freezer and do that for 10 minutes. Now we see the signs coming and do the "smokestack" nebulizer before bedtime and give an allergy medicine. The old man cough does linger for a week or more. We thought we were in for it this week with 90 degrees and now 60 degrees. Hope she feels better. Easton loses his appetite right before as well.
